back!

excuse the exclaimation mark, its not exactly tat exciting to be back. Work has been piling up when i was away so i'm in the process of clearing my debts these few days.

so i guess everyone would ask me "how was your trip to australia?"
lets just say tat i enjoyed being away from Singapore more than i enjoy being in Australia. Don't get me wrong, i do love Singapore. But this short 7 days trip to Australia has given me time to think about stuff and generally get away from the 'troubles' that have been bothering me.

My parents have been trying to convince me for the longest time that our entire family should migrate to Melbourne in a few years time and it doesn't help that my sister has gotten her Australian PR status. My reply would always be the same, "I'm not ready to leave Singapore, not ready to leave my friends and relatives, i hate the slow pace of life there, there is nothing on the telly tat is watchable and so on..." The only pull factor was probably the fact that cars there are so much more afordable.

But this time, i wouldn't be able to answer so surely.

U see, the problem with living in Singapore is that its too stressful. Yeah, yeah i know. everyone would be thinking, "What can Derek be stressed about? Which car to drive?" Firstly, screw you. The problem is not that i'm stressed out. Its tat every other Singaporean around me is stressed out. i'm sick of rushing here and there to do things. Why does doing anything here feel like a chore. Why do i wake up every morning and feel like Bill Murray in the movie 'Groundhog day'? Is this how life is suppose to be? Well, i dunno. Going on holiday has made me realise that being happy is about taking pleasure in doing every little small things in life. Its also about not taking yourself so seriously.

ok ok, enough. I shall stop being so philosophical. I brought my camera for my holidays but i never took any photos there. How stupid is that? So i've decided! My belated new year resolution would be to bring along my camera more often and shoot more pics with it.

bringing your camera around and taking more pictures was what you promised you'd do before you left.

Fact is that your camera is so bloody huge. Get a new one. A small one.
